1) CHBE Grad Mentors:
There are ~10 new grads starting in CHBE this fall. Initial training will be provided. Plus, you will have a Starbucks gift card so that you can take your mentees out for coffee a few times over the year. This initiative will allow new CHBE grads to feel welcomed and continue to become successful graduate students. This is a one year (Sept, 2015 – Aug, 2016) commitment. Upon successful completion, you will be able to include this activity in your CV, and we will be happy to provide a support letter highlighting your contribution to building a supportive CHBE graduate student community. First come, first serve. Please email Naoko (naoko.ellis@ubc.ca) for more info or to sign up.

2) Engineering Mentoring Program, APSC
APSC is providing mentoring program to connect you with industry. The deadline to apply is Sept 25. For more info: http://students.engineering.ubc.ca/mentoring-upper-years

For both of these opportunities, there will be a section to log this activity on your annual progress report towards professional development/leadership experience. I hope you consider taking part in these opportunities.
