Meet Ivy

Ivy was born in a small Taiwanese community called Hsinchu, just outside of Taipei.  In 1997 her family of four moved to Canada and lived in many parts of the lower mainland.  After high school Ivy pursued a degree in Commerce at UBC and graduated in 2011.  When she finished her degree she chose to go back to Taiwan for some time but decided she felt closer to home here in Vancouver.  She moved back and worked for some time as an IT Auditor at Ernst & Young and eventually made her way back to UBC to become a Group Assistant with the Computer Science Faculty.

Ivy has now  joined our team in Admissions and has already been an active member.  She is the “Firm Admits” team captain, challenging and encouraging her team to the top in this month’s health challenge.  When Ivy isn’t in the office you can find her working out, listening to music, playing with her dog (whose name is Navi) or relaxing.

Ivy’s Top Three:

Music:  Ivy has been playing the piano since she was four years old (but she says she’ll never be as good as her boyfriend, who apparently is the next Chopin!).  She enjoys listening to all music genres, from classical music to dubstep.  Some of her favourite artists include The Weeknd, Jay Cole, Eminem and Armin Van Buuren.

Traveling:  Ivy has visited many parts of the world!  Destinations include Paris, Rome, Venice, Amsterdam, Florida, Hawaii and Taipei.  Next destination:  TBD!

Food:  Specifically, Ivy loves everything egg and pastry; she just cannot say no to deliciously baked delights!  Her favourite place is the French bakery, Faubourg.  Bon appetit!
