She also works alongside her truly wonderful team in SCS to plan and deliver campaigns throughout the school year, aimed at promoting student success and well-being in different areas of their (uber busy) lives.

Vicky brings six years of experience in communications planning and execution to her role – as well as a deep (and affectionate) familiarity with the campus and with student life as a UBC alumna.

PennyThe unofficial profile
Vicky is…a writer, a thinker, a communicator, a dreamer. She’s also an ideas junkie who enjoys binge-watching TedTalks and following ridiculously creative folks on Instagram.

Vicky gets excited when content and form meet and merge in brilliant fashion – when stories take on new life and meaning by the very medium used to communicate them. This is probably due to rubbing shoulders with amazing exhibit and graphic designers in her past life as an interpretive writer and researcher, and seeing her ideas take shape – literally. When she tells people that she’s developed concepts and written text for physical and digital exhibits, she mostly always hears, “Oh, I didn’t realize that was a job!”

She has never (not yet?) published a book, but has seen her words printed in vinyl lettering in an exhibit she curated for the Vancouver Maritime Museum, and she wonders if this counts.

Vicky falls squarely in the Mac camp (sorry PCs), and is super stoked (and perhaps just a bit smug) that she gets to use a Macbook in her job. But she’ll also tell you that the real ‘apple’ of her eye is her kitty, Penny.
