Link-ED

By Ryan Dorey on August 5, 2018

Hello Classmates,
Please find attached a link to a Piktochart presentation that outlines a plan to create a platform for students to share learning with each other. The key to Link-Ed’s success is that students can offer other students credit in the form of tuition grants or job credentials that can be deposited as a digital credential authenticated by Credly. This gives students the incentive they need to start learning by communicating with each other. Universities will be happy to offer student tuition credit because of the type of student that Link-Ed gives them access to. The presentation works best if you click Present in the top left hand corner of the Piktochart screen. Enjoy! ????

This is the idea presented by Ryan. He is suggesting a mobile collaboration site for sharing a “chunk” of 10-15 minutes of learning moment not only can help other learners but also assist the “chuck provider” in getting credit towards their tuition. Chunks are used by learners to review concepts, which have been learned in class. It is a collaborative environment for questions and answers in real-time or asynchronously. To access these chunks, learners would need to pay a certain fee.
It looks like some type of tutoring service by students to other students. This fee that is paid can contribute to “tutors’” tuition. I just wonder how “real-time” can it be since it might be difficult for users and tutors to coordinate a time.
