Board Experience

I currently volunteer as a Director on the Board of the British Columbia Borstal Association (BCBA), a non-profit organization that operates a half-way house in Vancouver, BC. I have been a member of the board since August 2009. The BCBA was established in 1948 to assist young men to move away from criminal lifestyles and toward constructive community involvement. Today BCBA continues to offer a wide range of programs aimed at assisting male adult offenders to successfully re-enter the community. Currently the Board is comprised of eight members and we engage in policy and program development for the organization. As a board member I have engaged in various tasks to support the operation and development of the organization. Some of these have included assisting the organization with the development of policies and procedures especially in human resources, participating in the hiring committee for the current Executive Director of the BCBA, and engaging in community outreach.
