What are Communities of Practice?

by Roselynn Verwoord ~ May 6th, 2009

What are they? Groups, Networks and Teams organized around teaching and learning topics.

Who can join? Anyone at UBC with an interest in teaching and learning! We welcome undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, staff and all others with a teaching or learning role or interest.

Why Join? You become part of a community of people with similar interests. Share ideas and suggestions, both face-to-face and electronically, about teaching and learning topics most relevant to you. You are notified of seminars, resources and special opportunities related to the topics of groups you join.

How to Join? Register to become a member of the communities that interest you, by visiting

http://ctlt.ubc.ca/programs/communities-of-practice/

Registration is free, and you will receive e-mail updates from each community that you register for, with upcoming events and relevant information.
