We emailed our participants well ahead of time and set the deadline for online participation three days prior to the ISW. We had amazing success with all participants submitting on time and commenting on their peers comments. This translated into great mini-lessons starting from Day 1.

What a fantastic idea! I found that getting all participants to complete the online work with enough time to meaningfully incorporate their work into the face to face session(s) was a bit of challenge that it sounds like you overcame brilliantly with this approach. Looking forward to using it in my next ISW 🙂 – Magda
nice! advanced planning and being organized most definitely help with increased online participation. though i think asking participants to comment on one another’s idea adds another layer of accountability for them to actually complete the modules.
