On your mark, get set, WRITE!

I don’t know if there are any writers in the audience, but I just wanted to share about NaNoWriMo before it actually started. So I’m actually a little late…

Okay!

NaNoWriMo is: National Novel Writing Month (pronouced nah-noh-rye-mo, but in all honesty I pronounce is nah-noh-ree-mo)

It’s basically where aspiring artists everywhere write for all of November, with the goal of producing a 50,000 word novel.

Sound intimidating? Don’t fear! There’s loads of people doing NaNoWriMo! And for me… well I’m not sure if I’m going to or not. I’ve never really written anything that long, and I don’t know how to stretch a plot or develop characters in a way that’ll span over 50,000 words… but I am thinking about trying it. I tried last year and (sadly) didn’t succeed. IT’S HARD. Let me tell you that.

OKAY FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN THE IDEA OF NANOWRIMO… BAM! (which means please click me I am a link to more information!)

There’s lots of local writers and whether you live on campus or at home locally, there’s lots of meets and local gatherings to encourage each other through the tough battle of spitting out a fifty thousand word tale.

If you need a writing buddy, let me know! I may or may not do it this year but I really do want to try. (My writing has been put on a shelf for way too long)

To write or not to write, that is the question.

One day at a time, my lovelies!

& we’re dancing, dancing, like we’re made of starlight

Fact: I am A HUGE FAN of Taylor Swift.

Don’t judge. Sure, I share the same musical interest as my 12 year old sister and all her friends… BUT IT’S TAYLOR SWIFT, COME ON.

I just wanted to share the happy moment I had when two things happened on Friday. TWO VERY. EXCTING. THINGS.

  1. I  finally purchased the new Taylor Swift album: Red
  2. I found out that Taylor Swift is coming back to Vancouver next June

Sometimes I get really embarrassed about my massive love for Taylor Swift because she tends to be grouped with the artists that are for younger preteen girls. But I was one of those young preteen girls when Taylor Swift was first on the radio. I remember listening to the radio late at night and hearing Teardrops on my Guitar and wondering who sang that song. I forgot every morning to go check but eventually I caught a time when the radio told me.

And so I have absolutely NO shame about my love for her!

I don’t just love Taylor Swift because of her music. Well, yeah, but more in the aspect of lyrics. I am a BIG fan of good song lyrics. It shows me that music is so powerful and it’s just – ehgtikahnatekhnateknhaetlmnamn.

I don’t know how to describe it! Music is just so – It’s a little crazy and hard to explain.

Anyways. I finally got the CD! And I am a HAPPY camper. I know people aren’t really into physical copies of CDs (opting for iTunes digital CD instead) but I am a sucker for souvenirs. Plus I don’t know if you know this, but she likes to hide messages in her song lyric book. So I spent quite the while decoding it. It was good fun.

…OMG I MENTIONED THAT SHE’S COMING TO VANCOUVER ON JUNE 29 RIGHT?!  I’M SPAZZING OUT.

I went to her concert in September 2011, and it was AMAZING. I may not have been super close but – just – no words. The experience was just –

AND NOW I GET TO DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN OMGAHH

Guys.

If I don’t get tickets, I might actually fall into a pit of depression.

BUT I AM GETTING THOSE TICKETS.

No I didn’t take a handful of free lipstick at the last concert…

PS: The title of this post is a lyric from “Starlight” on the CD

movies, movies, i love them movies.

Okay so over the weekend I watched Pitch Perfect and let me just say: I LOVED IT.

I used to be in choir, actually I’ve been in choir every school year up until university. So seeing this and hearing the AMAZING singing was just, omg. Perfection. Not that I’m saying you have to be musically inclined to enjoy this, you’ll enjoy it regardless because Rebel Wilson (Fat Amy) is probably the most hilarious human being ever.

Wahh I don’t want to ruin anything for anyone.

BUT THE RIFF OFF WAS AMAZING.

Wait no! All of the singing was awesome!

THE SONGS –

SO GOOD –  JUST – WHAT.

How have I not heard about Anna Kendrick before?!

Did I ever tell you guys about how I think I’m in love with Anna Kendrick? I think I’m in love with her. She’s gorgeous and hilarious and her voice is HEAVENLY.  Although this might be a result of either extreme jealousy or extreme fandom.

I think this post ended up with me fangirling and rambling.

I’ll just stop. But I think I’m obsessed. (No, I’m not currently listening to the soundtrack . . . )

Here, go listen to this Explosion of Musical Awesomeness AND REMEMBER THIS IS ALL VOICES BECAUSE IT’S MIND BLOWING AND AWESOME. Acapella is the coolest thing EVER.

…”Aca-s’cuse me?”
