F-F-F-F-F-F-F-FRANKENSTEIN

So for English 110 I have to read Frankenstein, and that’s what majority of my weekend’s time was devoted to.

Let me tell you something about Frankenstein that will help you get through the incredibly dry and boring start: Read in an English accent. Out loud.

No seriously, THIS WORKS! I could not get through the beginning but practicing perfecting my english accent definitely helped. Plus reading it out loud actually let it click in my brain. When it comes to more historical literature, the language is different and it’s just really hard to get interested when you can’t even understand. Therefore: ENGLISH ACCENT!

Heads up: Frankenstein is not what the movies portray it as.

Heads up 2x: Frankenstein is the guy who MADE the monster, not the actual monster. How could they get that wrong!?

  1. This is supah cool because Arts One B (aka the Arts One group Leyna and I are part of) is reading Frankenstein next week! I’m actually so excited to finally read it!! The English accent thing is an awesome idea too~! I used to do that when I read Jane Austen novels (maybe because I liked to envision myself as Lizzie Bennet…) hehe. Happy reading!!
