To UBC’s Vancouver campus community:
I want to wish students every success in your exams. And I want to remind all members of our community to continue to look out for each other’s wellbeing and safety as we transition to new spring routines.
Recently the UBC RCMP issued a safety reminder to our campus community with tips to keep in mind for a new season. Find out more here:

At this time of year, studying keeps students up late and some exams happen at night in buildings across the campus. Some of us may be enjoying year-end celebrations. People are walking back to buses, parking lots and residences in the dark.
If you are a student, please plan to do your work in a library or designated study space. Do not leave your valuables unattended, and if you live in residence please ensure that when you are away you keep your doors and windows locked.
All of us should remember that we don’t have to walk alone when going out after dark. Go with a friend or make use of AMS Safewalk services, or call Campus Security if you feel unsafe. Remain alert, and review the safety tips on this web site:

Our campus has always been a safe place to live, work and study. This is very important to us. Through this term UBC Campus Security has continued their heightened presence and this will continue during exams. Please report any suspicious behaviour to Campus Security or RCMP.
You may recall that the Campus Safety Working Group recently produced its interim report, and you can read it here:

The group will present their final report in late spring.
Sincerely,
Louise Cowin
Vice President, Students
