PhD Candidate (Linguistics)
Yadong is a PhD student in Linguistic at the University of British Columbia. His research focuses on unveiling the unknowns in human speech production using techniques from experimental phonetics and computational modelling. The kind of questions he is interested in includes how do the sides of the tongue move during speech production? What relationships hold between speech production and swallowing? How does computational modelling help with speech production with speakers who lost a part/parts of their articulators? He currently works in the Interdisciplinary Speech Research Lab as a researcher.
