I just read a blog today which I interest a lot and also relate to me as a consumer who bought online in US. It’s about the reason of consumers will be buying more online this holiday season which I think is related to our course topic of Consumer Behabior these days. Consumer behabiour is really important for business. To understand the reason of consumers shop online in holiday season can help firms to have a better plan for the coming holidays.

From the diagram here, which is also available in the blog I read, we can see that all the reasons are almost equally important. The most important three for 2009 are free shipping, not available in store, and better deals. Also, people who shop online increased from 2008 to 2009. This means firms may need to start considering about e-commerce which might be the trent for future development. Based on the reasons that consumers want to purchase online during holidays, firms can creat some special products which only available online to attract loyal consumers and new consumers. Firms also can make convenience available to online consumers which make them feel same as consume in a real store, but do not need to walk out which is even better.

Overall, online shopping site offer consumers better price, more convient, and more selections which are the major reason they want to consumer online and also the major concern for firms to consider for future improving.
