ARPAS is an organization of professionals engaged in the practice of animal science through research, education, extension, consulting, service, or production.  Its members have completed an examination process and are certified for their expertise in their fields of animal science.  A Pacific Northwest Chapter of ARPAS was formed, primarily comprised of industry and university animal scientists interested in promoting the advancement of their profession.

A scholarship has been formed by the Pacific Northwest Chapter of ARPAS for Upper-class (juniors and seniors) students with an interest in a career in the animal sciences.  The scholarship is comprised of an award of $1,000 and recognition at the Pacific Northwest ARPAS meeting held at the annual Pacific Northwest Animal Nutrition Conference.

The date for next year’s annual meeting will be January 16th-17th, 2023.  The PNW Chapter recently renamed this Scholarship to ‘The Carl Hunt Memorial Scholarship’ to pay tribute to all of the countless contributions, Dr. Hunt made to our PNW ARPAS chapter, especially in developing undergraduates students for productive careers in the Animal Sciences.
