Internships at UBC Farm aim to engage UBC students with their local food system and create opportunities to experience the working environment of a food sustainability organization. Student interns work alongside UBC Farm staff and faculty to increase their understanding and knowledge of food systems research, from organic agriculture to food production methods, community engagement, and business management.

Running for the LFS|US Exec Committee for 2014/15? There is a mandatory All-Candidates Meeting on March 6th at 1-2PM in Mcml 64 (In the Agora Space of the Macmillan Building). Nomination forms, found here, are to be submitted during the All-Candidates Meeting.

2014/15 LFS|US Executive Committee Elections – Feb 25 to Mar 5, 2014

General Information:

With only a couple months left before the end of the school year, the LFSUS is looking for an executive team for the 2014/2015 academic year! The Executive team is responsible for overseeing all of LFSUS activities and put the LFS undergraduate’s voices out into the community. There are 8 positions in the executive team that you are available to run for:

  • President, Secretary
  • VP External
  • VP internal
  • VP Academic (Senator)
  • Social Coordinator
  • Treasurer
  • AMS Representative

There is a mandatory All-Candidates Meeting on March 6th at 1:00PM-2:00PM in Mcml64 (In the Agora Space of the Macmillan Building). Nomination forms, found here, are to be submitted during the All-Candidates Meeting. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please provide a reason and submit an online copy of the nomination form to lfsus.president@landfood.ubc.ca. Nomination Period: 

Nomination forms will be provided on February 25th and must be submitted by the March 5th. You can also find the nomination form online at https://www.facebook.com/events/549977488448637/.

Campaign Period:

After that time, campaigning will begin for the first two weeks of March (5th to 14th)

Voting Period:

The voting period will be from March 10th to 14th. The LFSUS will be using the AMS Simply Voting System to conduct the voting period online.

UBC Tax Assistance Clinics for Students (free!) – Feb 25 to Mar 31, 2014

The UBC Tax Assistance Clinics for Students (UBC TACS) is offering FREE assistance with taxes for UBC students from February 25 to March 31, 2014.

This year, the clinic will be operating in International House (1783 West Mall) from Mon-Fri, 10am-4pm and additionally from 5-8pm on Thursdays in Neville Scarfe Room #201. 

Appointments are free and tend to fill up within the first two weeks of operations, so don’t wait!
