My project changed like 15x before I settled on this. Not what I started out wanting to do, and I was initially not very happy with it, but it’s growing on me.

Dear Nic,
I am intrigued by this project, which appears to have begun as an exercise in more conventional forms of cartography and has clearly morphed into a far more complex exercise in modeling narrative. You note that you “spent a lot of time arranging [your drawings] in a way that made sense . . . temporally and spatially” and intimate that you didn’t quite achieve what you had hoped for.
I think that tension speaks wonderfully to the complexity of narrative and the challenge of doing it justice through any means of visualization. I was fascinated by your in-class discussion of your choices in terms of positioning the drawings and would love to hear more about that process.
Thanks so much for this thought-provoking contribution.
Best regards,
Teresa
