Multiliteracies in ELA Classrooms

“A Boy”

October 8th, 2012 · 3 Comments

A poetic tribute to one of my favorite poets, Holderlin. I taught myself how to use Prezi while doing this and realized it would be fun/instructional to do it in class. Many of the techniques remind me of the basic visual rhetoric of film. Please forgive the rough transitions as I am still obviously far from mastering the medium.

This was amazing!!! I have no idea how to use Prezi, so I could never do this so well, but I can see how this would be a valuable teaching tool – especially since Prezi is free to use and a nice alternative to Powerpoint. Plus, I can totally see how you might be able to mezmerize the students with the transitions.

Thanks, Mike — this is outstanding. Looking forward to future classes, this is an example of “e-literature.” For those of you who are interested, this is the type of submission you might consider for your 24 October blog post, in response to the readings on e-literature. Your post need not be as sophisticated as this one. Take the tutorials here and take the plunge: http://prezi.com/learn/ . The multimedia blog entries are a place for exploration.
