Deviation: Deviations, or detours, are misbehaviours that stray from normalization. Deviations are created when development cannot occur normally. If not corrected, deviations can become worse over time and may impact the child as an adult. Montessori described two types of deviations; deliberate and non-deliberate. Deliberate are behaviours fostered by adults, such as insatiability of attention or laziness.
