Ideal School (Exit Slip)

My Ideal High School

My ideal school would be huge, lage and massive in size and numbers for the reason of resource accumulation and distribution. In terms of funding a school will get more and can allocate it in specific fashions in order to do bigger and better meaningful thing with it in a longterm paced and structured front. In terms of the curriculum it means more qualified and specialized teachers to teach a variety of electives.

My ideal school would not only assess students traditionally. Manditory multi-modal assiignments wouldmbe necessary. Just as children are themselves individuals, so should the way they become assessed. In addition, students would be required to build a portfolio that is tied to the real world, who they want to be or what they can see. Students must prepare one document (not for each course, but 1 for 3/4 of their course load) of their choice to be inserted into their portfolio that relates to how a subject or part of a subject contributes to the real world.

My ideal school is connected to the community with disciplines (attempting too; not all and not compulsory) connected to each other. It is so easy to connect a school to businesses, community centers, and volunteer/outreach programs. It so easy to have experts come in and talk about things on occasion, and it is so easy to have a couple disciplines intermingle collaboratively on a couple of projects and host days to display these (inter and intra) disciplinary works for the community to see……….assuming we had time.
