Plants vs. Zombies vs. Mocha Chocolate Brownies

Hey, friends!

I’ve been in Seattle for the past Reading week, not reading at all but playing Plants vs. Zombies on an iPad.

My sister recently got back from vacation to India. Even though she’s slightly neglected to show me any of her 2000 photos, she’s told me some great stories about her trip and hearing about her adventures made me realize one thing: how fortunate we are to live in a time when the world is at our fingertips. I’m talking about travelling.

Even this week I’ve been in a different country. Of course, I’ve been in email contact with a few people. (Oh right, that thing called Facebook too.) But, it’s strange hearing someone else say “when you get back in the country”. Like who am I? Some 30 year old business woman travelling abroad?

Seattle’s a beautiful city. After spending so much time in Vancouver I don’t think I can live in a city that isn’t at least somewhat surrounded by water. I guess I’m just realizing that I am no longer that little girl next door living in the suburbs. I live in a metropolis at the edge of the ocean. Kind of insane.

The other thing I’ve realized during my trip. I love food. I’ve probably eating a good half of a 13″ x 6″ pan of mocha chocolate brownies. There’s no need to tell you how dee-lish those were. The reason why they’re so addictive must be the slight dose of coffee (= caffeine) in them. Also recently discovered Limited Edition Haagen Dazs Banana Foster ice cream. If there are two reasons to get rich it would be to smother my children with toys from Fao Schwartz and eat Banana Foster ice cream day in and day out. And then of course pay my personal trainer so I don’t get morbidly obese.

So out of the plants vs. zombies vs. mocha chocolate brownie battle. Brownies always win.

Point of story. I love spending time with my sister and her BFF. Eating good food is a food good. Whatever that means. Marzipan rolls at Piroshky Piroshky. Mmm almond paste. Honestly, I could describe every day this week simply through food.

The past couple of weeks have been extremely intense. I wish everyone luck with midterms. I know last week was the most intense week I’ve had at university. I want to share my new amazing study spot but I fear all two of my readers might flock there and then I won’t get a table. The Forestry building is the nicest building interior by far on campus, if any one would like to know my vote. You know you’ve been there for too long (like 10 hours too long) when the cleaning staff start vacuuming. Oh, midterms so glad you’re over.

Madly trying to figure out summer plans. Cheerio!
