It’s that time of year again. Nutrikids is recruiting TWO new Coordinators for 2019-2020! Are you looking for an opportunity to improve your public speaking and leadership skills? Are you looking to meet other nutrition students? This is also a great opportunity to strengthen your resume for academic programs and/or jobs! We are looking for a new Financial Coordinator and Resource Coordinator as we say goodbye to Rachel and Megan once they graduate.
Job Description of Financial Coordinator:
The financial coordinator is responsible for the ongoing financial administration duties within UBC Nutrikids. This position includes writing cheques based on collected reimbursements, as well as following appropriate banking procedures and communicating with LFS campus partners to obtain funding for the year in late August/early September. In addition, the financial coordinator will take on 1/3 of the total volunteer pods for the year, mentoring students and providing feedback based on given lesson plans.
The coordinator, with the help of other coordinators, will be responsible for helping plan the volunteer orientation day, BCDA nutrition workshop training, and organizing the Nutrikids social held during second term. Should any issues arise throughout the year, the financial coordinator is expected to have adequate and timely response in addition to communicating these issues with the team.
Qualifications:

- Experience related to finances, managing budgets, and dealing with a bank in a business capacity is an asset
- Able to communicate professionally and effectively through email, phone, and in-person interactions
- Independent and self-motivated; able to stick to strict deadlines
- Strong computer skills, including the use of Gmail and spreadsheets
- Able to balance school with extracurricular activities
Job Description for Resource Coordinator:
The Resource Coordinator is responsible for the ongoing resource collection and creation within UBC Nutrikids. This position includes creating educational and informational materials for volunteers, and maintaining and updating UBC Nutrikids official documentation. The Resource Coordinator is also the contact person for any required room bookings for events such as AMS Clubs Days, Imagine Day, Nutrikids Orientation, etc. Unique to the position, the Resource Coordinator is responsible for seeking new sponsorship opportunities from individuals and private businesses whose values align with Nutrikids. Lastly, the Resource Coordinator will take on 1/3 of the total volunteer pods for the year, mentoring students and providing feedback based on given lesson plans.

- Excellent written and oral communication is essential, as this position will naturally be in contact with a wide range of clients and stakeholders
- Possess the independence and confidence to cold-call potential sponsors
- Strong computer skills, particularly the use of Google Drive and spreadsheets
- Ability to give constructive feedback to peers
- Experience planning large events
- Must demonstrate excellent organization and time management skills
