Welcome Class of 2020!

Allard Law’s Career Services Office (CSO) provides career-focused services and resources to approximately 600 JD students, 200 graduate students, and Allard Law alumni.  We also provides a connection to the broader legal community via recruitment initiatives, networking opportunities, and educational events and panels. The CSO is staffed by three non-practicing lawyers (Chira, Jenn, and Tracy), an Administrative Assistant (Loretta), and a second year JD Student Assistant (Cate).  We’re open year-round, M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm.

While the CSO does not find students jobs (wouldn’t that be nice?!), we do provide them with proven tools, strategies, training, and support to identify and achieve their individual career goals, including securing articling positions, clerkships, summer positions, part-time work during law school, and permanent employment in legal and law-adjacent roles.

Want to know more about what we do?  Visit our website, or contact us.  But the CSO’s biggest recommendation for the Class of 2020 is to not spend too much time thinking about jobs just yet. Seriously. Instead, reflect on what’s brought you to law school and your career goals. Also continue to pursue all of the diverse non-law things that interest you. Knowing yourself, what’s important to you, and staying well-rounded will help keep you grounded throughout law school and have the added benefit of making you more employable down the road, regardless of the type of career you ultimately choose to pursue.

We’re looking forward to meeting you during Orientation Week!  Any questions in the meantime, please feel free to reach out.
