Let’s just say UBC’s one quotable place (as evident by the popularity of Overheard at UBC). Here’s my own take on all things quotable- from the funny to the serious.

- Prof: History is for the winners.
- While we were waiting for yoga class to start, guy approaches us.
Random guy: Hey, is this for the Jesus thing? - Prof: [talking about university degrees] I was gonna say bastard’s degree…
- Me: It’s probably not a good thing to be drinking coffee an hour before yoga class, but whatever!
- Prof: GDP goes down, but you’ve still got a nice garden.
- Prof: There’s the fundamental question of an activity like prostitution boosting welfare. Clearly, one person thinks so.
- Prof: I saw folks giggling over there, and I doubt it’s because they Googled sir Francis Hincks
- [SLC] The Buried Life’s Jonnie: This can be for dating too, no just means ‘not right now’.
- [SLC] Drew Dudley: Speak about others as if they’re standing right behind you. You’ll have to say sorry a lot less.
- Prof: Today, we’ll be talking about research methods in Comparative Politics, which is not a very sexy topic-
