Maxwell A. Cameron
Valentin Paniagua, former interim President (2000-2001) and candidate in the 2006 election, passed away today following a pulmonary infection. He was a passionate advocate of democracy based on the rule of law, equal citizenship, and full participation. As a leader, he saw with uncommon clarity what needs to be done to build a civil, just and democratic society.
