Ashley Fleck | Assignment 1 – Time to Align

In-Class Drawings

In Class Drawing – 1st Draft
In-Class Drawing – 2nd Draft

In class, I worked at drawing the building/space with just simple lines to quickly represent the geometry of the space. My first draft included unnecessary details that didn’t contribute to a greater understanding while I believe the second drawing represents the scale and shape well.

The front entrance to my apartment building has dappled light coming through the Japanese Maple, it’s mostly shaded due to the Northern exposure and vegetated planter bed. I hear the cars whipping past my street, but I have a calm feeling being so close to home. Leaves are beginning to fall onto the pathway up to my front door, but I know many more are to come. I can’t wait for the tree to turn its vibrant shade of red.
