Preface:
The ailment that I decided to focus on was Senial Dimensia and more specifically Alzheimer’s Disease. The influence of this project while rooted in scientific research is also personally rooted in my history having lost my grandfather who suffered from Alzheimer’s in his final years. Science is replete with knowledge on how to help patients who suffer from this disease and this project hopes to use that knowledge to help inform a designed space that can offer some relief or invoke memory for those patients. Despite the knowledge found in research much of the design for this project was informed by my personal experience with my grandfather in an effort to create a space that I know he would’ve enjoyed and would’ve been able to find refuge within.
