1. after building the model I had a better sense of scale. So this is a more precise proposed tree planting

2. I put it in Photoshop to see how it looks in plan

2. shrubs too, darker green means med height shrubs (30-50cm)

lighter green is groundcover/grass/shorter shrub or hedges (10-30cm)

Then I specified the species for trees. There are 21-23 trees proposed. Mostly chosen from the plant list from the previous post. For shrubs, I am going to look up GROWGREEN and use the Wesbrook planting analysis from my previous post as a reference.

for now im just more concerned about the rain garden area and the 25 % slope area. Like, whether the plantings i proposed are gonna work out.

 

hi, first of all i went around Wesbrook to record different planting forms. because I think they will inspire me for my own site. Also seeing them in real life is really different from seeing plants in a plan view.

Proposed trees

This picture shows my first thoughts on proposed tree species and their locations on site. It is not too different from my initial 1:100 plan. However, when I built the model, i realized some of the proposed trees were too small. This is a more accurate draft.

some notes: trees that produce a pleasant smell are proposed to be placed near benches. i tried to keep some pre-existing trees as well.

I also sort of zoned my plantings here. They will have different features based on the different functions of the zones.

 

Last but not least, pavings.

Next, I will work on my models to make sure they include the accessibility features too (railings, handles). Goodnight for now!
