President – Onyinye Ofulue
Onyinye is a fourth year chemical engineering student and has been a member of ESW for three years. She has experience in the pulp & paper and technology industries. She developed interest in sustainability in high school after doing some research on renewable energy, and has since become very passionate about the subject.
Vice President External – Jackson Herron
Jackson is a third year chemical and biological engineering student and joined the club in 2015. Jackson is interested in sustainable energy, green chemical production, and ecological sustainability. He has co-op experience working with recycled cooking-oil biodiesel, and is leading the ESW biodiesel project.
Vice President, Internal – Ryan Rickaby
Ryan has finished his third year of chemical engineering and is currently working for Ballard Power Systems. He joined ESW in 2016. He is interested in getting involved in the sustainable sector of chemical engineering after graduating and has been a member of the biodiesel project.
Vice President, Finance – Rory Dunbar
Rory is a third year chemical engineering student at UBC.
Project Leader, Soap – Aabid Mulla
Aabid is a fourth year chemical engineering student and has been a member of the club for 5 months. Having worked in the FMCG industry over 16 months of co-op work terms, he has a keen regard for the importance of sustainability and its impact on food security.
Media Director – Anson Yam
Anson joined ESW in 2017 and took on the role of revamping our website. He has 12 months of co-op experience researching fuel cells, and is passionate about using clean energy to maintain a sustainable world.

Club Founder – Alexandre Vigneault
Alexandre was a co-founder of the CHBE Sustainability Club in 2006. Alexandre has been an initial board member of the goBEYOND project, supporting thousands of students across B.C. to take meaningful action on climate change and sustainability. He currently sits on the board of Leadnow, an independent advocacy organization to achieve progress through democracy.
