Hello! My name is Sydney! In the fall I will be entering my fourth year here at the University of British Columbia. I am studying in the Bachelor + Masters of Management program, completing my undergraduate studies in Art History with a tentative focus on print media, technology, and the dissemination of information.
After I graduate and complete the remainder of my Masters degree, I hope to eventually work as a curator in an art gallery or in some sort of creative management role for a company I admire. Previously I have worked as an educator and program assistant in a couple of different museums in my hometown of Kelowna BC. These experiences opened my eyes to gallery and museum spaces as businesses and the administrative work that is involved. This is what pushed me towards the B+MM program.
This is my first summer in Vancouver and I am very excited to the city while it is sunny! In addition to English 301 I am completing my final science credit requirement with Astronomy 311 which focuses on stars and galaxies with a lot less math. Outside of classes, I am hoping to spend some time reading for pleasure and dedicating some time to my often forgotten hobbies.
