Independent School Lead: Roles and Responsibilities

The role of the school’s EDI Lead is critical to the success of the EDI.

The Independent School Lead’s Role is:

  • to provide support to their teachers as they complete the EDI questionnaire;
  • to act as a liaison between the EDI team at HELP and your teachers.

HELP’s role is…

  • one of consultant and guidance;
  • to provide ongoing support and resources.

October

Step 1: Return the signed Information Sharing Agreement by October 27, 2023.

Step 2: Register for training webinars

» Register for the Teacher Reimbursement Webinar on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 3:30-4:30pm here.

November

Step 3: Distribute the Teacher Letter and Teacher Checklist to participating teachers by the end of November. You can use this email template for your outreach.

December

Step 4: Receive e-EDI Login Instructions on Monday, December 4, 2023.

Step 5: Upload your Class Information in the EDI e-System prior to the Winter Break. Click here to view/download the Class List Upload Guide.

Step 6: Send home Parent/Guardian Informed Passive Consent Letters prior to the Winter Break. Click here to download the letter in the appropriate language. You can use this email template for your outreach.

Step 7: Please share the EDI Info Sheet with parents on your website, bulletin board, or sending it home with Kindergarten students.

Step 8: Ensure teachers have registered for the Teacher Training Webinar. You can use this email template for your outreach. They can register for one of the following:

February 1, 2024: Opening date to start the EDI Questionnaire

Step 9: Encourage teachers to complete the EDI questionnaire. You can use this email template for your outreach.

Step 10: Participate in the EDI Teacher Reimbursement Webinar on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 3:30-4:30pm. You can watch a recording of the webinar here.

March 10, 2024: Closing date to complete the EDI Questionnaire
