Registration for Endnotes 2023 is now officially open!

Our 2023 theme is: Occupation(s) and Survival.

In the face of global issues, including pandemic, war, climate change, ongoing settler colonialism, and more, how do we conceive our own and/or other’s occupation(s) and survival?

Caucus Meeting: 20th January, 05.00 PM PT

Catch the next caucus meeting on January 20th at 05:00pm (PST). The meeting will be held at the Graduate Lounge as well as on Zoom. The Zoom link will be distributed via email in the coming week.

Caucus is still looking to recruit for several positions, including Social Committee, Conference Committee and Book Sale Committee representatives. If you’re interested, come to the next meeting to express your interest! If you are unable to attend the meeting, you can email the co-chairs at gradcaucus@gmail.com.

 

Critical Conversations: Ecologies- 1st Feb

All are welcome to the second installment of Critical Conversations, to be held on 1st February 2023.  With the overarching theme of ‘Ecologies’, the event will feature talks by Dr. Kavita Philip, Dr. Robert Rouse, and Dr. Elise Stickles.

Critical Conversations: Intimacies & Kinship — 13th Oct

Come to the first Critical Conversations event this fall 2022!
Critical Conversations is an in-house speaker series initiated by the UBC Department of English Language and Literatures and the UBC English Graduate Student Caucus to foster conversations across fields and periodization between students, faculty, and the UBC community. The events are open to all, and feature brief talks by the invited speakers on a critical topic based on their wide-ranging research expertise and interests.

The prompt for the first event is “Intimacies & Kinship” featuring talks by Dr. Ayasha Guerin, Dr. Daniel Heath Justice, Dr. Ramesh Mallipeddi, and Dr. J. Logan Smilges. Caucus Meeting & Elections — 23rd Sept

All are invited to the first UBC English Graduate Student Caucus meeting for the academic year ’22-’23 at 4 p.m. PT on Friday, 23rd September via Zoom. Join in link and agenda will be delivered to your inbox prior to the meeting. As a graduate student in the Department of English Language and Literatures, you are part of the Caucus and it’s a fantastic way to be involved in community with your peers.

The first meeting will have brief updates and hold elections for new Caucus representatives for ’22-’23. To express interest, come to the meeting or send an advance email to gradcaucus@gmail.com to forward your name for elections. Some of the open positions may include:
