April 2018 – Zinc Saves Lives Battery Recycling Program (global initiative)

  • The creation of posters to promote the cause.
  • Recycling most types of batteries in the office for the month of April.
  • Report the number of batteries we recycled (in units and weight).
  • Give our recycled batteries to Call2Recycle.

March 2018 – WE Are Love (Public School Board Meeting Presentation)

  • 4 student leaders, accompanied by Mme. Dumontet, Mme. Isabelle, Mrs. Mouillerat and Mrs. Rogall presented their WE Are Love initiative at the Public School Board Meeting on March 14, 2018.

February 2018 – WE Are Love + Smile Bags (local initiatives)

  • We have planned and organized a special initiative for Valentine’s Day across GPE to hit the school with acts of kindness and love – 590 hearts were made for each staff and student at GPE to promote kindness.
  • We have donated all the items collected for homeless people in need to the Kelowna Gospel Mission for them to distribute the items.

January 2018 – Buddy Benches + Smile Bags (local initiatives). We officially rolled out the Buddy Benches and they have begun to be used by students. We continue the the collection of goods to fill our smile bags.

December 2017 – Smile Bags. We began collecting items for the Kelowna Gospel Mission to deliver smile bags to homeless people.

November 17, 2017 – GPE Pride. We will discuss the local initiative of doing Buddy Benches and have Good Morning Greeters at GPE!

Leadership Team Nov.17, 2017

November 10, 2017 – Design an action plan. We will review the results of the survey and decide which ones of the initiatives that they have chosen will indeed be carried out this year. A vote may be needed to solidify which local and global actions will take place. We will then create an action plan with potential dates for each initiative to be rolled out.
