EVENTS

UBC MHAC hosts 3 regular events alongside one-time events throughout the year. Our 3 main events consists are: Project Paws, Speaker Series, and ROAR. Please feel free to read about these events, and like or follow us on Facebook for updates on all of our upcoming events!

If you have any events you want to help come to life, message us on Facebook or email us.

PROJECT PAWS

In arguably our most popular events series, we work with BC Pets & Friends to bring trained therapy dogs to UBC’s Vancouver campus! Seeing our fluffy friends helps even the ruff-est of days a bit better.

SPEAKER SERIES

In our educational series of events, we invite panel speakers ranging from professionals (such as UBC Profs or Certified Therapists) or an individual who wants to share their stories to lead a round-table discussion with our members. Every event focuses on a different mental health-related topic, ranging from PTSD to Anxiety disorders. As topics may be sensitive, a member of our team is present at all times to ensure safety and confidentiality.

Disclaimer: UBC MHAC’s Executive Team or Members are not medical professionals and we encourage you to seek professional help as needed.

REACH OUT AND RUN (ROAR)

ROAR is our keystone event held in collaboration with the Thunderbird Athletes’ Council. Our goal is to raise awareness for and support positive mental health, as well as promote positive mental health.
