OutLaws

As an equity group it is fundamental to the work we do to acknowledge that we are on the stolen territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. Our presence as settlers is an act of colonial violence and our work can only be done in continuing recognition of this fact.

Hello class of 2023! We are this year’s OutLaws co-chairs, Millie, Dax, Quinn and Nick, and we’re excited to welcome you to the Allard community.

OutLaws is Allard Law’s 2SLGBTQI+ student group, and we are committed to the principles of inclusivity, justice, solidarity, and community. OutLaws aims to create a safe space for 2SLGBTQI+ Allard students to socialize and maintain a strong community presence at law school, and hopefully the rest of your life! It’s been a difficult and strange year for everyone, and your 1L year will be unique, but we are committed to being your community of support, and are excited to share our events and initiatives with you. As a 1L, OutLaws was a source of great support, and a great way to make lifelong friends and make a real impact in Allard’s community.

Throughout the year, we will be running social events and get-togethers, both on-campus, off-campus, and online as COVID-19 guidelines are updated. OutLaws is here to support you every step of the way in your law school journey, from chats over coffee, chill social events, community support and guidance, to structured events catered to different professional, academic, and personal interests. We are always open to suggestions from you, and we plan to introduce regular office hours this year so you can come share ideas, thoughts, concerns, or just casually hang out with us (even if it’s virtual). We’re eager to meet you and we’re excited to welcome you to Allard and to make the most of this year!
