Darran

Camile

For those of you who don’t already know, there have been two really exciting changes within the Enrolment Services professional team.

First of all, Darran Fernandez has been promoted to Associate Registrar & Director, Student Support & Advising. Secondly, Camille Johnson has been promoted to Associate Director, Enrolment Services.

Here’s a little about both of these great people in new and exciting roles:

Darran grew up in Southern Ontario. Before studying and working at UBC, he worked in politics at the UK and Canadian House of Commons, and at his undergrad alma mater, Carleton University.

Vancouver was meant to be a short stint: complete his master’s degree and be on his way back ‘east.’ Six years later, Darran calls Vancouver home.Doggy
Darran

He loves to travel to places that offer him both great adventures and exceptional food! When he’s not globetrotting or working, he’s probably hurrying hard on the curling rink, running around Vancouver training for his next race or cooking up a storm (paired with some great wine!).

He just finished reading Insurgent – the second book of the Divergent Series – on his last trip to New Orleans and New York, so if you have a (less whimsical) book recommendation send it his way! (Actually, you could post it in the comments section below).Darran

Camille has been working with Enrolment Services in various capacities for the past 10 years, and was even a student here!

Outside of work, Camille performs as a professional singer and musical theatre actor. You may have even seen her sing at past events on campus. She sang at events for ES and the VP Students office, to name a few.

Camille also coordinates weddings, events, produces local community theatre shows on the North Shore, and teaches singing lessons on the side (she likes to keep busy!).Camille

In her spare time (what spare time?!),  she plans her weekends and travel around her love of food. She loves trying new and unique dining experiences. If you have any recommendations for her to try, please pass them along! (Again, feel free to post suggestions in the comments section).
