Bake sale for NepalAs we know, on April 25th, Nepal was stuck by a large and destructive earthquake which killed more than 8000 people and injured more than 18,000. Just yesterday (May 11), it was struck again by a magnitude 7.3 earthquake.

On May 4th, Shahbano Bhatti, from our Admissions team, took matters into her own hands and organized a bake sale to raise funds for relief efforts in Nepal.

Shahbano had wanted to help out in some way, but felt she couldn’t do much on her own. With the support of her supervisor, Carla, she was able to raise $394!

With some research, Shahbano found a small organization based out of Kelowna, called IWEN Canada, already doing work in Nepal. This organization reports the amount of money donated by each individual to the Government of Canada, which in turn matches every dollar donated!

Shahbano’s bake sale and your donations will actually result in a $788 donation! Way to go!
