Meet Susan
Susan Mah was born into a large family. She has three brothers and three sisters, all of whom reside in the lower mainland except for one, who lives in Toronto. Susan was born and raised in Moncton, New Brunswick where she spent time listening to the radio and learning the recorder. Susan admirably developed a strong work ethic at the early age of 12. Her parents owned a restaurant so she had to spend a lot of time helping out, working as a waitress, dish washer and general helper of the restaurant.
Joining a New Family
From one big family to another, Susan became a part of UBC back in 1989, 25 years ago this year! At that time the Registrar’s office was located in the General Services Administrative Building. Susan worked for Administrative Services and Classroom Services before joining the Undergraduate Admissions team. She enjoys her current role and the variety of the tasks she handles in her unit.
Favourite Pastimes
Susan loves to spend her time doing various things, with various people. 
Tech Time
If you need someone to explain your newest gadget to you, Susan is your woman! From researching subjects to following celebrity gossip, Susan loves to spend her time on her iPad, learning new things and keeping up with technology trends. She’s already got her eye on the next prize: The Nexus Smartphone!
Music
Susan claims she has no musical talent but that doesn’t stop her from enjoying the sounds of classical, jazz, pop or any other genre. She loves it all! Susan also loves to get her music fix when she watches Glee and The Voice, her two favourite television programs.
Family
Susan loves spending time with her family, particularly her 7 year old nephew, Tim. Tim was a three month premature baby who suffered many complications growing up. Fortunately, Tim is now a tremendously happy and healthy 7 year old who enjoys seeing Susan as much as she enjoys seeing him. They are both anxiously awaiting their upcoming trip to Disneyland this fall.
