We are all very excited to welcome John Boylan as the new Manager, Enrolment Service Support in the Foundation Unit John will be working with US and Canadian loan management and course, event, and exam scheduling.
John joined our team in late March after wrapping up his post as the Associate Registrar at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and he has already demonstrated that he is a great asset to the UBC community which is no surprise considering his credentials.
John is an active member of the financial aid community at both the provincial and federal levels, which is great since he has contacts to help us out with all the student loan mysteries that come up. He participates in various roles with the BC Association of Student Awards Personnel (ASAP) as well as being the current President of the Canadian Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators AND the co-chair of the National Advisory Group on Student Financial Aid.

Leadership development is also a passion of John’s and he has completed several certificates in this field as well as having a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and a Masters focusing on Educational Leadership and Student Affairs.
While it might sound like John couldn’t possibly have time for too many other activities, he also enjoys swimming, cycling and hiking. These are all great pursuits to enjoy since he lives in Deep Cove, and hopefully he also enjoys barbequing since I think he may be volunteered to host a staff party!
