Welcome to my e-portfolio. I am a student at the University of British Columbia (UBC) working towards obtaining my Bachelor of Science. My major is a combined major in science (CMS), combining the disciplines of chemistry, life science, and earth and environmental science. My portfolio consists of a variety of research projects, papers, and many other assignments I have completed throughout my undergraduate degree at UBC.
My CMS degree has provided me with a broad-based science education, with a major focus on data, communication, and experimental learning. Not only have I had the opportunity to understand and evaluate scientific issues from a variety of different disciplines, I have also learned how to communicate scientific findings to a broad range of audiences. Additionally, I had the opportunity to participate in a field-study seminar course in Iceland in May 2019, which enabled me to realize the importance of sustainability on a global scale.
As a CMS student, I am highly interested in how different systems within the broad area of science work together and influence one another. Combining chemistry, life science, and earth and environmental science for my major, my main focus is to learn more about Earth’s systems and understand how they work together. Growing up in Vancouver, Canada, I have always been a big believer in environmental sustainability and this is something I hope to continue to pursue long into the future.
