Hi everyone!
APRIL 9th, 2020: The following is your first real assignment for Calculus during these very, very unusual times. We will see how it goes – you are all very capable students and are going to have to use your critical thinking and independent learning skills and, remember, I am here to support you. We are going to start with ONE section – Section 3.5 and here is the plan:
- Read the notes (below) for Section 3.5 AND look through the examples in the textbook.
- Use the “Helpful Links” below for extra examples/support – some are video links and some are links to text-based sites as I know not everyone has internet that supports watching videos online.
- Do the assignment for Section 3.5 – you should have your assignment sheet with you, but if not, I have posted it below as well.
- My worked out solutions for all of Chapter 3 – including Section 3.5 – have been added below.
- Starting TUESDAY of next week (April 14th) you can call me at the school at (250) 992-7007 any time between 9 am and 2 pm to ask questions and get help. As time goes on, I might make a schedule as to which class can call when, but for now call anytime. Or email. I might also set up something with Zoom or Google Meet eventually, but not for next week.
- ON THURSDAY, April 16th, I will email you each a 1 question “quiz” on section 3.5. The email will have instructions for handing it in. I will also be asking for feedback as to the work load – this is a tricky section so if you need more time, we can adjust the schedule and do the “quiz” the week after.
