A helpful Handout!

Posted by in Fraser Heights, Practicum

During one of my first classes I noticed a few students sitting at the front of the classroom using their cell phones to work through a safety refresher quiz. I noticed after passing by they were using their translators to work through the key terms on the page in front of them. Not knowing many of my students yet it was clear that they were ELL students and were struggling with some of the new material in front of them. Thankfully I have this in my back pocket. During a school project another teacher candidate and I created this for a hypothetical ELL tool for our food class. Well thankfully it has come in really handy. To see their faces light up when I handed it to them was a wonderful sight. They were very grateful and I think it will be a great tool for them throughout my class.

This is something that you can vary for any class. easy to make and very beneficial for ELL students as a reference tool.

Feel free to use it or pass along to fellow teachers! I hope it helps other students in your classes.
