Presenter Info Night 2017 Student Leadership Conference – Sept 27, 2016

Disrupt the Ordinary at the 2017 Student Leadership Conference (SLC)

The Student Leadership Conference (SLC) may not be until January, but the preparation starts now!  LFS students are encouraged to participate in the SLC as conference attendees, volunteers or presenters.  One of the largest student-run conferences in Canada, this year’s SLC theme “Disrupt Ordinary” encourages students to push boundaries, affect change and create a better future.  No students on campus are better positioned to disrupt ordinary than LFS students, so show UBC what you and your Faculty are all about while developing your own academic, personal and professional skills.

Attend to meet new people and get inspired, volunteer to make a difference and network with other student leaders across campus, or share your story and develop your presentation skills as a presenter.  Who knows!?  You may follow in the footsteps of your peers from “Roots on the Roof” who won “Best Highlighted Project” at the 2016 SLC!  If you want to present, don’t miss the Presenter Info Night next week – Tuesday, September 27 from 6 – 7pm in Henry Angus, Room 292.  Visit their website for all the details and mark your calendars with the October deadlines for volunteer and presenter applications.  You can also visit Karla Carreras, LFS Student Engagement Officer, in LFS Student Services if you have questions (Room 344 in MacMillan, or email karla.carerras@ubc.ca).
