Can I do this for a living?: a panel on working in community

Can I Do This for a Living?

The Learning Series is hosted by the Centre for Community Engaged Learning for students to provide more context, time to reflect, and learn more about community.  Thursday, October 17th from 4pm until 6pm at Walter Gage Residence in the Media Room.

This specific panel will share tips, tactics, and experiences about working in and understanding the non-profit sector. It’s a great chance for you to explore what a career in community can look like and understand how these three individuals got to the jobs they have now.  These jobs are very different, so it’s a great chance for you to see the possibilities beyond the stereotypical jobs in community.

Joining us will be

  • Barbara Grantham who is the President & CEO, VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation, Barbara holds a BA degree in Political Studies from Queen’s University, and a Masters degree in Public Policy and Public Administration from Carleton University.
  • Lloyd Lee who is a Design and Analytics Manager at Climate Smart BC and who holds a BASc in Mechanical Engineering (University of British Columbia), and is a BREEAM Registered Assessor.
