Victor did a great job of walking the group through the basic process of scanning and analysing a poem. This graphic organizer is intended to help students identify and visually represent some of the different features and literary elements of a poem. The organizer is a scaffold to help learners structure and justify a personal interpretation of a poem in the form of a written poetry response/analysis. The organizer also lends itself to think/pair/share and discussion-based activities.
Assignment 2 Jose Nihira
My partner Tom used my text and graphic organizer effectively and was able to teach the others about Japanese feudal hierarchy. The other students were very invested in the roles and they got lots of discussion.

Assignment 2: Poetry Devices Revision Lesson
Feedback for my partner:
Dorothy articulated the different devices well, with good examples. Instructions were clear
and subject knowledge was evident.
Cassandra Grohmann’s Text/Organizer
Dean did a great job working with our group and facilitating discussion around the topic and having the students narrow down their main points they thought were important and how the subject was important to them perosnally. The chart was more of working on the key points of the lesson and what they took away from it. He had great pacing, loud voice and knowledge of the key terms needed to teach the lesson. He kept everyone engaged the whole time.
Ben Kerby / Jordan Hirayama
Ben did a really great job of getting the lesson off to a quick and engaging start. He had a very effective hook to the start of his lesson and the students really bought in. His tone of voice was very friendly and welcoming. It was clear that he was very knowledgable when it came to the text and had options to take the lesson in many directions. He gauged the room very well and made appropriate changes on the fly to keep the lesson flowing. Overall, Ben did an excellent job of facilitating this lesson and I could have sworn he taught this subject area. He also incorporated synonyms into the lesson to help the students understand what some of tough words and characteristics and it worked very well.
Ben Kerby/ Jordan Hirayama
Jordan did a fantastic job with this text. Reading and analyzing primary sources is a difficult and complex task. It is a very discipline-specific skill. Jordan did a great job of elaborating on vocabulary and breaking down the reading into simple steps. Jordan’s presentation could have benefited from further activation of prior knowledge in the subject. Nice work, Jordan.
Assignment 2 Kim Ateah
Sara did a great job explaining the stages of clay. She did especially well emphasizing terminology.
