Ear Nose and Throat (ENT) Specialist

As the name indicates, ENTs are medical doctors who specialize in the functioning of their ear, nose or throat, and the related structures of the head and neck. Specifically, they :

  • Assess, diagnose and treat ear-related disorders and/or diseases, including hearing disorders, balance disorders, and otitis media (severe ear infections);
  • Assess, diagnose and treat nose and throat related disorders and/or diseases, including disorders and diseases of the nasal cavity (that is, the inside of the nose), breathing system and larynx (see full Glossary);
  • Assess, diagnose and treat allergies and voice related disorders;
  • Assess, diagnose and treat mouth related disorders, including swallowing disorders;
  • Treat medical conditions that are related to the ear, nose and throat;
  • Offer medication that treats conditions related to the ear, nose and throat;
  • Perform surgical operations that can fix or alleviate medical conditions that are related to the ear, nose and throat.
