I feel honoured to be invited to 2014 Celebration of UBC Killam Award winners: https://www.grad.ubc.ca/about-us/news/2014-ubc-killam-awards-celebration-recap Killam Trusts are something very unique to Canada that many people do not know about. It is also interesting that the idea for the trust came to Dorothy Killam in 1965. The effect has been enormous – I could see it looking around the room during the event. I am also very proud that it recognize both research and teaching and UBC is very lucky to be one of only 5 Canadian Universities who benefit from it. I feel very lucky and grateful to become one of Killam award recipients.
