Teaching in BJ: Week 1 Impressions
I have finished teaching Week 1 of the course. What an exciting experience. I am very inspired by what I saw here. Most importantly, I realized that good teaching has no borders. Here is what Chinese teachers found most useful:]
1) PhET simulations
2) Clickers
3) Logger Pro – sensors
4) Games and Group work
Today I started teaching the second course. Teaching two “identical” courses in a row is an excellent opportunity to improve and incorporate the feedback from Week 1. I also feel much more comfortable in China now. I am surprised how fast it has happened for me. The only challenge now is that the temperatures in Beijing are almost 40C. This is very hot and stuffy. So this plus pollution makes it a little challenging. However, the students today were excellent. I really enjoyed being with them – so I am grateful for that.
