Future Inquiry

Although this inquiry is for a course and has a set end date I know that my inquiry won’t stop there. The more I learn; the more questions I have and the less answers I have. These are some of the questions that have developed through my inquiry and although I have found bits of the answers -I still feel there is more research to do.

What skills does Home Economics build?

What roll does an educator play into the resilience of students?

Does having an interest or ability in the subject play into intrinsic motivation?

Are their ways to encourage intrinsic motivation?

The two theories that I would like to research are embodied cognition and the Self-Determination Theory. I would also like to start researching alternative methods of assessment. If we were able to assess growth instead of the final project it may be more encouraging to students who are not doing well and more motivating for students who have natural ability, this would truly influence a growth mindset (Masters, 2014).

Finally, these books have sparked my interest and could deepen my understanding of my inquiry project.
