Reflection of Marketing Study

Comm 296 is a pivotal course to me that change my ideas of commerce. At first, i thought commerce is boring just like mathematics. But Marketing opened a brand new door for me that guide me into the real commerce world. It is exciting and interesting for me to learn Marketing. And i decided to choose Marketing as my specialization after i learned the course.

Marketing is not only about transaction to transaction, but further more, it puts attention on how to build a long term relationship with customer and supplier. It broaden my vision that the type of business may not only be profit-oriented. Otherwise, there are many ways to make a company successful. The most attractive part for me is how to do the promotion. In fact, in daily life, we face promotion nearly everyday. But, i never really pay attention to it and never analyse the benefit or drawbacks of one particular way. After i learning Marketing, i found business really relates to use so close. In the grocery, i start to focus on the POP(Point of Purchase). I observe the kinds of product each retailer provide and customer’s buying behavior. That really makes me feel the knowledge is applicable. We are no more learning things that we never gonna use. But in contract, every single point of marketing i studied in class is able to change the business situation.

I really appreciate my teacher Tamar Milne, she gave a new vision of commerce. Inspired me to pay more attention to every detail. She provide me a great way to study and apply into the real world.  I also really appreciate the contribution all my classmates have done to the class. They gave me different view of commerce.

Nowadays, as the living path is accelerating day by day. We dont have enough free time for ourselves. It makes us stressful but also make the advertising team of different copanies feel very nervous. They can design a moive-like advertising but do the audience really have time to look it patiently? Especilaly for the convinient goods or inferior goods, people wont consider it for a long time. How can the advertiisng impress the audience?
Betty Wang in her blog First Impression introuduces a interesting phenomenon named First Impression.First impression defines the fact that people usually have a personal judgement about one particular thing during the first serveral seconds they meet it.
As the society is so busy, we are busy buying and selling. How to make the advertising more effective? We cant wait 10 years for the customer and potential customer know how good is our product by their actual using. The business will run out :-(.  Not a lot compay have a long history and they always have new product that hope to be known as soon as possible to start a great selling record. To love in first sight is our pursuaing. Not only the products but also the advertising. We should find out the segment and target it, provide a easy-understanding but really impressive advertising.

After discussing the advantage of product variety, it is clear that online shop has a great ability to display huge volume products at same time, but the limitation also shows up, shop need to find a proper way to display there products, no misleading information but make their product shine. With the development of Internet technology,we enter the new area of E-commerce. Nowadays,  the online shopping is exploding around the world. False Advertising make market a mess

 

As the market become more and more competitive, firms hope to find a quicker to impress the consumers and  increase profit.As the result, Communication through different media becomes a important part in marketing process. Advertising play an pivotal role to encourage consumer’s buying action. With no doubts, the birth of advertising is a big progress for marketing, but at the same time, the false advertising appears. The advertising with misleading and exaggerated information may increase the profit, but, should we do this?

The article “Misleading advertising on the rise” shows that false advertising is increasing. The reason is simple, firms aim to have a higher market share and make more profit. To be more competitive, firms must have a better way marketing.Misleading advertising usually use methods such as hidden price,misleading illustration or incomplete comparison to make their product attractive.

The firms, consumers and supervision department are all involved in a competition now. Firms try to mislead consumers while consumer don’t want to be fooled. The supervision department is responsible to protect consumers, and make the market be fair and reliable.

The company must be guided by both the interest and ethic.Marketing uses smart strategy but not the immoral strategy.Truth is the only thing we should tell .The company who cheat on consumers may get benefit once but lose forever.
