VW Emission Scandal

VW scandal threatens ‘Made in Germany’ brand
Overview of the global world, we find out that this entire world is connected tightly by the business. Business has become an important way for the countries to build relationship with each other and for the human being to make profit. However, not every businessman will use the legal way to do so. As reported the

German mightiest car manufacturer Volkswagen has been rigging environmental tests for diesel emissions in the US. VW also admitted that they indeed developed the specific software for the cars to pass the environmental test and boost its sales.

In my opinion, I think this behavior broke the business ethics seriously. Firstly, manipulating the pollution data to boost the sales not only lost consumers and even the whole public’s trust, but also brought an enormous damage to the environment around the world. People will doubt the VW brand from every aspect and lose their confidence to it gradually. It will result in a large decrease in the future sales. Facing 18billions of fines and enormous sales decrease, it will limit the expense for the VW manufacture to employ workers inevitably. Therefore, VW will have no choice but to cut down the number of employees, which will result in a huge unemployment in the society and cause the instability for both the society and the entire world eventually.

Secondly, the waste pollution would also bring large threats for people’s life. What the VW promised to the pubic was that their cars were totally non-environmental magical product in the world. It could be powerful and friendly-environment at the same time. However, in fact, the rigged tests indicated that these cars emit up to 40 times the legal limit of pollutants, which means that these waste pollution will bring large bad effects for the people all over the world. Not only the customers who use their cars, but also including the people who live around them. Pollution will be spread into the air, it means that people may easily get sick and catch up with disease from the invisible air. How terrifying!

So if you are a VW user, will you still trust them?
