The many uses of a toilet in Starbucks.

Waking up is one of the biggest struggles one can say in their life span.  In the morning, you’re affected by an unresponsive mind and the easiest cure is coffee. You need your daily dose of caffeine in order to survive throughout the tedious day. Nothing is better than a cup of coffee in the morning to ready one’s day right? Perhaps your image of Starbucks could be changed if I destruct a blueprint of the coffee made in a local Starbucks in Hong Kong.

There is nothing wrong finding the most efficient way to keeping a customer satisfied. It’s simple, a customer places an order, and you deal with their order as fast and efficient as possible. However, a local Starbucks in Hong Kong completely hid a disturbing truth from the consumers in order to keep them satisfied and ultimately to maximize their profits in order to maintain a successful business. The saddening but yet surprising truth is the usage of toilet water to brew their coffee. Their response was simply the public restroom was the nearest source of water in the building. It was filtered but only to an extent to remove bacteria and not any smaller viruses that may have been contaminated in the water. As the Stakeholder theory states that all stakeholders must benefit, the consumers have been affected significantly. Is hiding unethical methods in a business worth jeopardizing its brand? You decide.
